Monthly Archives: April 2012

Swimsuit shopping on a rainy day,
hearing the wrong words,
saying what I mean but don’t mean to say.
Heat is off again, spawning the reprise of sweatshirts and fuzzy socks.
I bake a French silk pie
dropping pieces of chocolate like ermin
into white cream, wondering
if perfection can ever replace an apology.
wondering if transgression, like the rain,
can ever hold its own forgiveness.
